Dear reader(s),

I realize it has been a good long while since I have posted new writing. It has been a busy semester and I have been trying to negotiate tutoring one set of high school students who are determining what US foreign policy ought to look like in the Middle East, a second who are discussing the influence of the Enlightenment on the French Revolution, and a third who are arguing whether or not the US should have dropped the atomic bomb. I have also been wrapping up my senior memoir workshop, preparing for my graduate student reading, interviewing for internships and applying for pipe dream jobs. I have likewise been visiting family and shopping for Christmas gifts and reading lots and lots of books. But also, I have been thinking, and some of those thoughts have warranted blog posts.

About a month ago my friend Brett invited me to guest post on his widely-read and epically interesting blog: Irresistibly Fish. In his invitation he suggested the topics of motherhood and singleness, both of which hit me pretty hard. I have many much thoughts and many much feelings and many much things to say about singleness. So many, in fact, that I have been avoiding it for quite a few weeks. But ever-gracious, Brett has patiently waited for me to string a few things together, resulting in what will probably be the first in a series of posts on this topic. The rest of these posts will appear here, on Destination San Francisco Blog, but the first comes courtesy of Brett, and you can find it by clicking on this link.
